Today we continue our progressions for our bench press variants!
In this video, you will quickly notice that the feet are elevated once again, but now there is a resistance band added. In my opinion, there are elements of this that make it both easier and harder:
- Easier: the band adds an element of balanced load, by pulling the bar down from both ends of the barbell
- Harder: the band adds a source of variable resistance, so not only are you adding an aspect of variable resistance as the gets harder the higher you raise the bar.
- Harder: still a lack of balance being derived from the lower half of the body, causing much more core activation.
