Video – Bench Press W/Feet up and Resistance Band

Hey Team,

Today we continue our progressions for our bench press variants!

In this video, you will quickly notice that the feet are elevated once again, but now there is a resistance band added. In my opinion, there are elements of this that make it both easier and harder:

  • Easier: the band adds an element of balanced load, by pulling the bar down from both ends of the barbell
  • Harder: the band adds a source of variable resistance, so not only are you adding an aspect of variable resistance as the gets harder the higher you raise the bar.
  • Harder: still a lack of balance being derived from the lower half of the body, causing much more core activation.
